One more Hack me
please, the fourth one in the series, I hope you love it as much as I do! Let’s take a look.
for this craft was a kitchen towel that I had bought at H&M Home this
spring. All this time it waited patiently in a drawer to make an appearance.
And just when I placed it near the sink I backed off from using it to dry the
plates and glasses
some twigs, in all shades ranging from blue
to turquoise. It even had some gold details. . . A coincidence? I don’t think
I could admire it every day because its’ wonderful colors brighten up your
on the wall” was born. The very next day I bought a canvas 40Χ60 (the towel’s
size is 50X70) but either way I wanted a smaller canvas so the fabric could
fold over it.
and so I started the craft! Firstly, I ironed
the towel so as not to have wrinkles and creases. Afterwards, I painted the glue onto the canvas
with a brush, and I placed the towel on the canvas, being careful that the details of the design were
balanced. Meaning the peacock’s head was not too high so the twigs would look
higher. In other words, how it would look if someone hand painted it.
dry, I added glue to the sides of the canvas as well and I laid the fabric very
well to look impeccably finished. There will be no wrinkles and bumps, from a distance
it will trick you into thinking that it’s a painting. I brushed the glue over
the surface 2-3 times and it created a crust, where the fabric protects it from
the dust and it gives the illusion that’s it’s made with one material.
next afternoon, because I work in an office in the morning, I stapled the
fabric that was leftover on the back. I used an electrical stapler, the one I
use to upholster fabric onto chairs or sofas.
YOU SAY ANYTHING! First
of all, this can be done with small nails and second, I bought this stapler
from Lidl, I don’t mind saying the price, 14,00€. Without me wanting to promote
anything, these supermarkets are like paradise
for us crafters, because they have sales
on materials and tools that are really worth it!
“if you have the right tools”! But it’s not just that … you should find the best solutions for you!
the painting the fabric is nicely folded
over and you can’t tell that it’s a canvas!
can’t stop looking at it!
because the cabinets have blue details. You’ll see this better when I write a
post about the kitchen…
… and so the shades of blue
will complement the details of the cabinets…
don’t think you can blame me!
